Aidos Kapassov
Can you introduce yourself? What is your name and surname? My name is Aidos Kapassov. I am 33 years old, and I joined ATU in March 2025. I have extensive experience in the retail and service industries. Throughout my career, I have worked across various sectors, including F&B, hospitality, retail, and other service-related areas. I am a graduate of Cardiff Metropolitan University, where I earned a bachelor's degree in Business Studies/Administration. What is your role at ATU Duty Free and what do you do in this role? I work as a Team Leader at ATU Duty Free. My main responsibility is to lead and support the team, ensure smooth daily operations, maintain high customer service standards, and help achieve our sales targets. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be and why? I believe it’s not the place that matters most, but the people you share your life with. I would love to travel to different countries, discover new places and see the world, but I would prefer to live in my home country, close to my family and the people I care about. Is there a characteristic you would like to change about yourself? Why? I can sometimes be a bit too direct and stubborn. I see this as something I would like to improve by being more flexible and listening to different points of view. At the same time, I believe being direct helps me communicate clearly and being persistent helps me achieve my goals. What is your favorite feature of yourself that you are most proud of? I am most proud of my analytical thinking and crisis management skills. I am able to stay calm under pressure, analyze difficult situations, and find effective solutions quickly. What is your greatest fear in life? My greatest fear is living a life without meaning or purpose. I want to feel that my life has value, that I continue to grow, achieve meaningful goals, and make a positive impact on the people around me. Is there a talent you wish you had? I would love to learn how to play musical instruments and also become good at drawing. I think both music and art are great ways to express yourself and develop creativity. Who is your favorite historical hero, from the past or present? I don’t usually choose idols or role models, but I find Cristiano Ronaldo’s story very inspiring. His discipline, hard work, determination, and ability to stay at the top for so many years are qualities that I truly admire. What qualities do you most value in a friend? The qualities I value most in a friend are reliability, honesty, and openness. I believe these qualities are the foundation of strong and lasting friendships. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be and why? Sometimes I wish I could switch off my analytical mind because I tend to overthink things and constantly analyze situations. While it is one of my strengths, I would like to learn to relax more and simply enjoy the moment. What is your favorite activity to do in your free time? In my free time, I love spending time with my son. He is growing up so fast, and I don’t want to miss these precious moments. For me, spending quality time with him is one of the most important and enjoyable things in life. What is your biggest regret in life? There are a few things I regret in life, but most of them are quite personal. On a lighter note, I definitely regret not buying lots of Bitcoin when it was worth almost nothing! Can you share with us the place and time where you felt the happiest? My happiest moments are the simple ones spent with my family, especially warm and cozy evenings at home watching movies together. For me, these moments create the best memories and make me feel truly happy. Do you have a slogan or motto that has motivated you throughout your life? One of my mottos is to deal with the root cause of a problem, not just its consequences. I also strongly believe that everyone should take responsibility for their own actions and decisions.
