Previously unreleased over 50 years old unknown recordings from Barış Manço; “Manlac Blues 9 - Demo 1965 - 1966 Volume 1”


From early 1965 until 1966, Barış Manço recorded many demo songs in Belgium that would lay the foundation for his future song writing. His musical partner André Soulac recorded all the songs using an amateur tape recorder. Barış was play all the instruments himself. Barış Manço would come back to a lot of these songs later in his career and write new Turkish lyrics. The master tapes were over 50 years old and tried to clean up the sound as much as possible. Previously unreleased these recordings pressed as a long play vinyl record.

The screenplay was written and the film directed by Martin McDonagh, inspired by a real story. Mildred Hayes was saddened for her daughter who was raped and killed in the movie, which was come out in 2017. She believes that the town sheriff and the authorities didn’t take the necessary actions against the homicide. Despite passing many months over the loss of his daughter with the lack of evidence, by renting 3 advertising panels in the town, she gave messages about the sheriff, Hayes, and she wanted to show that she won’t give up and dares all the people in the town. She makes efforts to clarify the event. The film won the Best Actress and Best Supporting Actor awards at the 90th Oscar Ceremony.
