We opened our renewed duty free store at Tbilisi Airport
We expanded to 430 square meters and opened our redesigned duty free store. In line with ATU's sustainability projects, the design and implementations of the furniture were renewed with a flexible system approach, and the store now features nearly 80 luxury global brands, including the new brands added to our portfolio. With its lighting and stylish interior design details, our Tbilisi store will continue to offer passengers a privileged shopping experience in a wider area on the departure floor.
Colorful event at Luxury Square
A colorful event was held at the multi-brand concept Luxury Square at Istanbul Airport in June, 22 and 23, accompanied by graphic artist Yasemin Karakaya's special designs and DJ performance. Visitors, who had a pleasant time before their flights, transformed their products into a unique design by personalizing them with the motifs and patterns they chose after shopping for sneakers and bags at Luxury Square.
ATU Happy Day event was organized for the second time this year
The Happy Day organization, which took place at Kemerburgaz Üçüncü Mekan for two days with the participation of employees from Istanbul operations and headquarters, had a pleasant time with activities. Employees had a fun day with the 'O Ses ATU' karaoke contest, arcade, electronic basketball, electronic darts and electronic foosball, tug of war, sack and spoon egg-carrying competitions, volleyball and backgammon tournaments.
Donations were made to TEMA Foundation on behalf of all our fathers of ATU
Within the scope of Father's Day this year, we donated to TEMA Foundation on behalf of all our fathers working at ATU to contribute to afforestation projects and the protection of natural habitats. In order to create a greater impact together with TAV Group companies, the donations we delivered to TEMA Foundation will be used in the works to be carried out for the protection of nature in order to leave a better future for our children.
Our Macedonia operation organized a Happy Day event
Macedonia employees spent a day surrounded by nature, socializing with entertainment, music and enjoying nature with different activities. The event was organized at Sherp Horse Riding in Galichnik, a mountain village in North Macedonia, and included activities such as horse riding, saddling, milking a goat, and throwing a horseshoe into a box. The event started with breakfast served with local food in the village and continued with a barbecue at noon. Teams divided into three groups also competed in team activities.
The most successful employees in Bodrum received certificates of appreciation and plaques
In our Bodrum operation, employees who achieved the highest success for cash box sales in the 2022 season, were given certificates of appreciation and plaques.
ATU successfully implemented SAP RISE Transition Project
The SAP Rise Transition Project, which aims to redesign the business processes in the SAP (Systems Analysis and Program Development) system with an innovative approach by moving to the cloud, has been completed. The project, which started on December 15, 2022, was implemented in approximately 5 months and the system was modernized with a more efficient, secure and sustainable data flow. Within the scope of the project, high performance HANA (High Performance Analytic Appliance) transformations were realized in all our systems. In addition, the CRM system was also migrated to SAP Service Cloud.
Certificates were presented in the 'Development Program' in cooperation with ATU & Vakko Esmod Academy
The 'Development Program' certificate ceremony, organized in cooperation with ATU Duty Free and Vakko Esmod Academy, was held at Vakko Esmod Academy. Store Managers, Team Leaders and employees in Istanbul Old Bazaar and Boutiques operations participated in the trainings, which lasted approximately eight months under the tutelage of experienced names leading the sector.
ATU Ethics and Compliance Program Awareness trainings organized
ATU Ethics and Compliance Program Awareness trainings were completed at the headquarters. A total of 986 people, including 851 from Turkey and 135 from abroad, participated in the trainings, which lasted approximately seven months in all operations.
Our Gazipaşa operation celebrates its 10th anniversary
Gazipaşa-Alanya operation celebrated its 10th anniversary with a dinner event organized with the participation of all its employees. Our General Manager Ersan Arcan, Operations Deputy GM Ali Öztekin, Marketing&Corporate Communications Deputy GM Zeynep Kaptan, Bodrum Operations Director Berk Sancar, Gazipaşa Operations Director Hakan Yıldırım and TAV Gazipaşa Operations Coordinator Ömer Sözener attended the event, where the teams were presented with certificates of appreciation and personalized pen gifts. In addition, employees who completed their 10th year of service were also presented with plaques of appreciation. At the end of the organization, executives and Gazipaşa teams cut the 10th anniversary cake together.
ATU Happy Day events in Izmir
Our Izmir operation came together for a breakfast organization on May 23-25 as a part of ATU Happy Day activities. Approximately 180 employees attended to the breakfast organization held at The Guru Urla.
Our Ankara operation celebrates all-time sales record
The Ankara team, which reached its highest sales figure to date, celebrated its success by cutting a cake, and certificates were presented to our colleagues who contributed by our operation managers.
We took our place at C Level Club Galataport BizTalks Meetings
C Level Club, designed by Marketing Turkey as a networking and information platform for senior executives, organized the third GalataportBizTalks Meetings, hosted by Galataport. As part of the event program, the participants visited our first duty free store in the field of maritime operations. During this visit, Ahmet Kötehne, Strategy and Business Development Chief Strategy Officer, provided information about our Galataport store and the sector. ATU Marketing and Corporate Communications Deputy General Manager Zeynep Kaptan also accompanied the participants.
Happy Day Events at Bodrum
Our Bodrum operation organized ATU Happy Day events with the participation of its employees on May 9-11. Outdoor activities started with breakfast and continued with activities such as volleyball, football and darts.
We received LEED silver certification with our Cartier store
The Cartier store we operate at Istanbul Airport was awarded the LEED Silver Certificate by the US Green Building Council (USGBC), the world's most respected organization in green building rating. The Cartier store, designed by ATU Duty Free as part of its sustainability efforts, was designed with environmentally friendly architectural features.
We supported entrepreneurial women on Mother's Day
This year, as part of Mother's Day, we presented the hand made products prepared by entrepreneurial women, who produce with great effort and self-sacrifice in different regions of our country, to the mother at ATU. We shared the dreams of our women who produce on behalf of our employees.
Our Bodrum operation participated in the volleyball tournament organized by the General Directorate of State Airports
Our team showed a successful performance and placed third in the tournament, in which institutions and employees at the airport participated. The winner of the tournament was TGS team.
Certificates were presented at the 'Executive Development Program' organized in cooperation with ATU & Koc University
The 'Executive Development Program' certificate ceremony, in cooperation with ATU Duty Free and Koç University, ended with the event held at the Koç University Rumeli Feneri campus. It took place online between January 20 and May 05, and trainings were held on 7 different topics from finance to customer experience.
We support students in the earthquake region with the ATU Our Youth is Our Future Fund
In the aid campaign that is launched to support our citizens affected by the earthquake disaster in our country, we doubled the funds accumulated with our employees voluntary contributions and transferred them to the 'ATU Our Youth is Our Future Fund' established in cooperation with the Turkish Education Foundation (TEV). This fund will be used in the new academic year for the one-year education expenses of 15 young students from TEV's scholarship recipients in the earthquake regions. The ATU Our Youth is Our Future Fund will continue to create social benefit through regular donations on our employees behalf and will continue to be the light to support the education of more young people and children in the earthquake region.
We met with ATU children at the April 23rd Quiz Competition
As part of the April 23rd National Sovereignty and Children's Day, we held a pleasant online activity with ATU’s little ones in a quiz contest with surprise prizes. At the end of the event, where our children between the ages of 6-10 had fun answering questions together with their parents; all our children were presented with gift certificates worth 500TL from Mucit Panda.
We took our place at TAV Leaders Summit 2023
TAV Leaders Summit 2023 was held in Istanbul, hosted by Bloomberg HT correspondent Reyhan Baysan. This year's summit, which was organized under the motto 'Leading the Change', was attended by leaders from TAV Group companies. The day event kicked off by the opening remarks of TAV CEO Serkan Kaptan and Chairman of Executive Committee and Executive Board Member Franck Mereyde, and focused on the three pillars of the new era roadmap: digitalization, hospitality and sustainability, and corporate culture and values. Keynote speakers featured Prof. Dr. Özgür Demirtaş, Sabancı University Chair of Finance, Serdar Kuzuloğlu, Technology Writer and Trend Hunter, and Judith Liberman, Storyteller and Art Therapist.
