Can you introduce yourself? What is your name and surname?

My name is Amanda Veinberga.

What is your role at ATU Duty Free and what do you do in this role?

Since September 2024, I am a team leader in ATU Riga Airport operation. As a team leader, my role involves a mix of operational tasks. Key responsibilities are to supervise and motivate staff in positive way, ensure that both I and my team are performing well. Provide them with necessary information, goals and feedback. Recognizing achievements, lead by example in delivering excellent customer service, train new employees. Monitor sales performance, targets and work with team to meet goals or exceed the targets. Ensure the store operates smoothly by managing schedules, delegating tasks, maintaining a clean and organized environment. And from time to time – delivering some candies for better day.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?

That’s a good question. Nowadays, there are almost limitless opportunities to travel anywhere, but I think, I would choose Latvia. We have four seasons. In spring, there is blooming flowers, then comes sunny days in summer, after – autumn with leaves which turn in vibrant shades, and then comes winter. And in Latvia, winter is amazing; one day it’s sunny with spring vibes, and the next day you feel like you are in Alaska. Absolutely amazing and always surprising.

Is there a characteristic you would like to change about yourself? Why?

I think that there is always a space for more self-discipline. On my days-off, I can change my plans by snap of the fingers. Still not really sure it is a good or bad habit. Oh, and here comes the “doubts” and a little bit of overthinking as well…

What is your favorite feature of yourself that you are most proud of?

Staying cold minded in “extreme” situations, persistence and a little bit of good sense of humor. But if I need to choose one, I’ll choose the persistence.

What is your greatest fear in life?

Telling everybody my greatest fear, so someone could use it. And selling my car. Just in case someone is looking for an absolutely amazing, good-looking, affordable car. Please, don’t hesitate to contact me.

Is there a talent you wish you had?

I would love to learn to play some musical instruments.

Who is your favorite historical hero, from the past or present?

Leonardo da Vinci. A broad-spectrum specialist and a genius. Great contributions to art, science and engineering. Had a profound impact on multiple fields.

What qualities do you most value in a friend?

I think, one of the most valuable qualities is trustworthiness. A friend you can rely on, who stands by you in good and bad times. The one whom you can call in any time of the day, no matter what.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be and why?

Planning my days off, like I plan my workday. Sometimes, the day before a day-off I have absolutely amazing plans and schedule for my free time and when the day comes, I can just change it all over.

What is your favorite activity to do in your free time?

I absolutely love to drive a car, like anywhere, alone or with company. From time to time, when inspiration strikes, I like to paint with acrylics or oils. And few years ago, I fulfilled my childhood dream, I started to go to Muay Thai trainings.

What is your biggest regret in life?

I think I’ll keep that to myself.

Can you share with us the place and time where you felt the happiest?

And this one, as well. I’ll keep it to myself, if we are talking about “The Most”. I try to be positive and happy most of the time.

Do you have a slogan or motto that has motivated you throughout your life?

The main thing in life is balance.
