Sabina Nurgaliyeva

What is your role at ATU Duty Free and what do you do in this role?

HR Supervisor, ATU Duty Free Kazakhstan

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?

To be honest, I love my homeland Kazakhstan, but if I had a chance to relive my life, I would choose Italy—somewhere in a picturesque village with endless vineyard views and plenty of sunshine.

Is there a characteristic you would like to change about yourself? Why?

In my past experience, I used to get feedback that I need to be more tough, and tried to follow this advice, however, as time went on, I realized that with soft power, you will achieve greater success than with brute force.

What is your favorite feature of yourself that you are most proud of?

Good communication and a sincere smile have a power that can gently dismantle even the most formidable barriers.

What is your greatest fear in life?

That’s a very common fear and a deeply human one - losing the people we care about.

Is there a talent you wish you had?

From a young age, I’ve dreamed of learning every language in the world.

Who is your favorite historical hero, from the past or present?

I sympathize with many historical heroes, but I never try to emulate any of them. Every person creates their own unique life story.

What qualities do you most value in a friend?

Being honest and free from judgment. I always follow these values myself, because life’s twists and turns often make any decision appear right in its own way at any given moment.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be and why?

At my age, I’ve come to embrace who I am and I possess only one desire to become a better version of myself.

What is your favorite activity to do in your free time?

My hobbies include spending time with my beloved family and practicing yoga. Quality time with family is the most precious moment. Yoga helps me nurture both my body and mind.

What is your biggest regret in life?

I have no regrets, as there are no mistakes in life, only lessons.

Can you share with us the place and time where you felt the happiest?

I feel happy every day when I wake up, breathe, walk, and hug the most valuable people in my life. Also, memories from my childhood about the time I shared with my mom and dad, grandmas and grandpas and the people I love, bring me immense joy.

Do you have a slogan or motto that has motivated you throughout your life?

Everything passes.
