Dear Colleagues,
As we approach the last months of the year, we are pleased to leave behind us another successful year. We are proud of what we have achieved together this year. As we continue to grow with our company's operational network and human resources, I believe we have further strengthened our position in the industry with our achievements.
First of all, I am proud to announce that this year we have been awarded the GPTW certificate in the Great Place to Work (GPTW) survey, which is based on your satisfaction and is therefore the most valuable for us. It is very valuable that the GPTW survey is conducted with a transparent evaluation of your experiences. The fact that we have been awarded the GPTW certificate for three consecutive years is a reflection of ATU Duty Free's corporate culture, which is based on high employee satisfaction and a trustful working environment. The fact that we are consistently rated by you as one of the best places to work with high levels of satisfaction motivates us to do even better. The ATU culture we have created together is getting stronger with your contributions. I believe that being a family is the most important factor in this success, as well as the importance we attach to diversity and inclusion as part of our company's sustainability vision. We support proactively promoting diversity and inclusion and making a difference for an inclusive corporate culture. It has always been our priority to create a safe environment for all our colleagues to realize their potential, to be happier in their working environment, and to provide equal opportunities. We will continue to strive for this together. Another good news of this year was being included in the 'Best Workplaces in Retail' list of Great Place to Work. Thanks to all of us for our hard work.
In terms of operational developments, we made significant progress with the steps we took to expand our service network throughout 2024. The ATU Duty Free service map was extended to Kazakhstan. At Almaty Airport, we opened our new duty free stores on the departures and arrivals floors. Our operation in Kazakhstan is of strategic importance to our company as it is our first location in Central Asia. We believe that this step will strengthen ATU Duty Free's role in the region and further develop its high potential in travel retail. By expanding our operational network, we are determined to strengthen our presence in the region and increase our competitiveness in the international arena. In Türkiye, we expanded and renewed our main store on the departures floor at Bodrum Airport with a 100% walk-through concept. This new development is designed to provide our customers with a better shopping experience while optimizing passenger flow. We also opened the first Canada Goose store in Türkiye at Istanbul Airport by adding another prestigious brand to our portfolio. In addition, we launched our Order&Collect service at Riga Airport. This service, which we already offer in Türkiye, was launched at our Riga operation as part of our goal to provide our customers with a more flexible and convenient shopping experience.
The year 2024 has also brought architectural design awards to ATU. Luxury Square, our multi-brand concept store at Istanbul Airport, won a bronze award for its interior design at the IDA International Design Awards. Our Luxury Timepieces store at Istanbul Airport also received an honorable mention in the same competition. These awards are an indication of ATU's efforts to raise the bar of shopping experience ever higher in its approach to in-store architectural design.
Our innovative Tip Story Micro Learning project has won two prestigious awards this year, further proving the success of our training projects. This project, which we implemented to support the development of product knowledge of our employees in our Old Bazaar stores, was first awarded a bronze Stevie in the 'Most Successful Application in Educational Technology' category at the Stevie Awards for Great Employers programme. We then went on to win another bronze award in the 'Best Learning in the Flow of Work' category at the Brandon Hall HCM Excellence Awards, further cementing our success. Furthermore, we are proud to announce that we have become the first company in the tourism sector to receive the Equal Women at Work Certificate. This is a result of independent audits conducted in cooperation with the Sustainability Academy and Intertek. This esteemed certificate is bestowed upon organisations that proactively ensure equal opportunities for women in business and actively advance gender equality. ATU's attainment of this recognition reinforces our unwavering commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace, while also contributing to the realisation of the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
This year, we introduced ATU Duty Free mobile application to you. This application, which also has content for passengers, is now with you as a mobile tool where all ATU employees can realize their business processes faster and easier from the Employee Login section. You can follow all developments and news in our company from our application. With the ATU mobile application, we have digitalized our business processes and made them more practical. We will continue our efforts to be in closer and more interactive communication with you with new developments in the coming period.
All the successes we have achieved this year are the result of the importance we attach to innovation and continuous development as ATU Duty Free. I would like to express my sincere thanks to all members of ATU and my colleagues who contributed to these projects. As we come closer to 2025 with the same determination and excitement, I wish you a healthy, happy and productive new year in which we will experience greater success together.
Sincerely,
Pınar Şener Harput
